The Samaritan Counseling Center of East Texas is a faith-informed mental health service that seeks to improve the health of mind, body and spirit through evidence-based, therapeutic approaches, research and education.
The Samaritan Counseling Center of East Texas adheres to the belief that there is a close relationship of mind, body, and spirit, and that optimal health care involves consideration of all three. The Clinical Staff are certified and/or state licensed in their professional disciplines. In addition to maintaining these clinical standards, the counselors will also be trained and supervised to help clients build upon their faith resources when appropriate. Clinical services are available to people of all faith traditions and to those who do not claim a religious identity. The Center is a non-profit and as such will be able to provide services to many in the community who would otherwise not be able to afford counseling.
An important element for an excellent non-profit organization is accountability. The Samaritan Counseling Center of East Texas has an active Board of Directors. In addition, the Center is affiliated with the Samaritan Institute. The Samaritan Institute is based in Denver, CO, and has been in existence for 40 years. Their key mission is to provide quality, cost-efficient counseling, education, and consultation that recognizes the inter-relatedness of mind, body, spirit, and community. In hundreds of Samaritan counseling centers across the country, communities are served by trained and accredited counselors. The Samaritan Counseling Center of East Texas will maintain accreditation by meeting the high standards of care that the Samaritan Institute requires from their affiliates.
